Raptors faced off against Boothstown Lizards this morning in what was a tense battle between two evenly matched teams. Raptors took the lead early on with a great strike from Freddie. There was excellent defending and goalkeeping from both teams in the first half to prevent anyone from getting away with the game. Boothstown managed to pull one back before halftime, making it 1-1 at the break. Raptors started slowly at the beginning of the second half, and Boothstown took control with two quick goals. Raptors didn’t let their heads drop and were soon back in the game with goals from Tommy and Max, making it all square at 3-3. But it wasn’t to last, as Boothstown managed to take the lead once more, 4-3, with 5 minutes to go. With a great solo run, Arthur managed to sneak one past the keeper, bringing the score to 4-4 with just a couple of minutes left. Max then got his second and put the Raptors ahead. A great bit of teamwork got Coen onto the scoresheet and ended what was a good game, albeit a bit scrappy at times, but great to watch.
This week's PPOTM was Noah, who did excellent in goals in the first half with some solid saves and long balls up the pitch for quick counterattacks ⭐️
And MOTM was Felix, who’s been moved more to a defensive position in the past couple of weeks, which he’s taken to very well, getting more involved in the game ⭐️
