A look back on 2025

Hi All,

Please see our Club Newsletter – Year in Review.

So much has happened across East Leigh AFC this year, and we’ve captured as many highlights as possible from an incredible 12 months.

At the start of the year, we set out to raise funds towards the development of Hesketh Meadow, and thanks to the fantastic efforts of our players, parents, volunteers and supporters, we’ve made a huge step forward.

As we look ahead, we have meetings lined up with the Football Foundation, Lancashire FA and Wigan Council. Following these, we will have a much clearer picture of the next steps on the Hesketh Meadow development pathway.

? Funds Raised in 2025

£894 – Pippa Climbs Snowdon
Probably the most impressive individual fundraiser of the year. A member of the Tigerlillies set herself a huge challenge — and at just 8 years old she absolutely smashed it, both in the climb and the fundraising. Truly inspiring.

£5,000.00 – Co-op Fund

£772.69 – Dan’s Marathon
A Wildcats parent, Dan took on the Manchester Marathon after seeing how much the club does for the local community — a huge effort for a great cause.

£2,295.00 – Hike the Pike
What started as an engagement event to bring the club together away from the pitches turned into a brilliant fundraising success. Teams worked together and exceeded all expectations.

£1,500.00 – Wildcats Parent Donation
A generous donation via RNM Services from a Wildcats parent, recognising the huge effort the club and its volunteers put into the community.

£2,002.00 – Golf Day
One of the most popular events of the year — selling out almost instantly. Players, parents, local businesses, friends and families all came together for a brilliant day. Keep an eye out for its return!

£250.00 – Last Man Standing
Hosted by Brett — a knockout competition based on Premier League results that proved many of us aren’t quite the football experts we thought we were!

£1,740.00 – Bonus Ball
Hosted by Craig — a monthly National Lottery-based draw that was hugely popular and will continue this year.

£506 – Tigerlillies Team Fundraising
Sponsored bike rides, cake sales, custom slates and football cards — the Tigerlillies really pulled together and did their part in style.

£280.00 – Applecast Charity Fishing Match
Applecast, themselves a registered charity, hosted this event to support East Leigh AFC’s fundraising efforts.

Total raised: £15,239.69

Every single pound has come from people giving their time, energy and support to the club — and it makes a real difference to what we can achieve together.

Thank you to everyone who hosted, organised or supported an event, and to everyone who took part. Whether you ran, hiked, donated, bought a ticket or simply shared a post — it all mattered.

If you didn’t get involved this year, there will be plenty of opportunities in 2026. Several of this year’s most successful events will be returning, and we’re always open to new ideas — we’d love to see you take part.
